Biodynamic production is entirely applied in the vineyards of Urla Sarapcilik. Vineyards consisting of such Italian and French grape varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Nero d’Avola, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot as well as Bogazkere and Bornova Misket varieties of Anatolia have been brought into being for the past 8 years. Clone selection of Bornova Misket is carried out in the vineyards for the first time in Turkey. Moreover, in accordance with the purpose which has been set as an ideal, recovery works of the Urla Karası and Gaydura which are the extinct varieties of the region has been effectively carried out in cooperation with the Sabanci University and Tubitak through genetic comparisons for the past 5 years.
Urla Sarapcilik owns 300 decares of planted vineyards where different varieties are available. It aims at processing the crops which shall be obtained from its own controlled vineyards and therefore new planting and arrangement take place in the vineyards every year.
In accordance with the production policy in which quality rather than quantity is brought to the forefront, it tries to reduce and concentrate its production and to take refined crops through the selection of fields, planting and original pruning techniques in the vineyards and selected clones. It aims at obtaining superior quality boutique wine less than 200.000 litres out of its vineyards covering an approximate area of 300 decares.
