In the winery where gravity flow technique is employed, the processed grapes automatically flow into stainless steel and oaken tanks with the effect of gravity. And wine also flows into the American and French oak barrels with the effect of gravity by the same method. Thus, as no pump is employed, wines do not go through any trauma nor lose any of their specific fine aromas and flavours.
Thanks to the technically superior tanks (Ganimedes, horizontal, oaken, etc.) available in the winery, various tests and trails are performed at the production stage, thus performing a flexible production in order to achieve different and best results for each and every type of wine. This way, successful results are achieved in terms of product quality. Considering the architectural structure of the operation, the fact that gravity is used for the product flow and that the fermentation and storage areas of the operation are under the ground ensures a serious energy saving. The said setup is only one of those elements which make the winery environmental friendly.
Another one of the most significant factors which make Urla wines achieve a high quality is the existence of a technically extremely well equipped and developed laboratory unit. Each of the analyses of the basic values as required at both the production stage and the transition to bottling process is manually performed and the results of all such analyses may be obtained and recorded in such a short time as 2 minutes by technologically superior instruments. Thus, the history and development of the wine in each separate tank may be perfectly monitored and easily interfered if and when necessary. For instance, the unit employees may control the system in which they may simultaneously perform cooling, heating and sedimentation in all the tanks from outside of the plant.
Urla Sarapcilik intends to turn its laboratory unit into an internationally accredited laboratory base where important element measurements and microbiological analyses for wine may be performed through new projects which it designs in the research and development field in the near future.
