Urla Boğazkere 2009
(Boğazkere) This delicious wine obtained from the strong, full bodied tannic fruit-like Bogazkere grapes of the Urla region goes under six-months’ aging period in French oaken casks, thus gaining a lively composition and rich aromas. Bogazkere which is strong, fruit-like and stays on the palate evokes the aromas of dried plums, dried fruit pulps and ripe sour cherries. It is perfectly compatible with grilled meat, specialities prepared with curry, pasta with cheese and mushroom and baked and richly sauced red meat dishes. Recommended to serve at 6-18°C. This wine in a quite dark Bordeaux colour has attractive floral and imposing black fruit aromas and sweet vanillin tones in the nose. It is full and strong on the palate but with integrated tannin and fresh acid. Acid ensures the wine to stay lively and fresh by offsetting the sweet black fruits on the mid palate. It has a long, fruit-laden, fresh and pleasant finish. (Julia Harding – Master of Wine) 75 cl
